laser tattoo removal

How does Laser Tattoo Removal work?

Because of the inability of our bodies to remove the ink particles making up the colour patterns in the tattoo, even though they will fade over extended periods, (but never disappear), if the tattoo is to ‘’go’’, it will need some artificial assistance to speed up that process and assist the body’s immune system to remove the source of the colour.

In simple terms, the laser process simply heats the ink particles in the tattoo and they shatter into ever smaller particles. The smaller the ink particles the faster the immune system in the body, acting naturally, can remove the pigments as it does with other toxins in the blood.

A very simple process when you think about it.

Comfort

In all tattoo removal procedures, the issue of potential pain is to most clients a very important if not the most important issue to be dealt with. Lorina has given this a lot of consideration and alongside our Quanta Laser, we use a Zimmer Cryo cooling system.

The Zimmer Cryo machine as the name suggests is moisture-free and produces a flow of very cold air onto the skin where the laser is working below to heat the ink particles. This serves to numb the skin surface before, during and after the treatment. The German-manufactured Zimmer Cryo minimises discomfort to clients, and you can be confident that we take your comfort during the treatment very seriously.

Results & Care

Tattoo inks are originally impregnated into the skin at varying depths and as a result, successful removal of a tattoo will require several treatments to effectively allow the body’s immune system to carry the particles away.

The number of sessions you will need for best results will vary according to your skin type, the size, colour and age of the tattoo to be removed. As a rule due to skin healing, we recommend and suggest a break of at least 8 weeks between treatments.

After each treatment, Lorina will provide you with a specific list of procedures to follow but in very general terms they will include:

  • application of an anti-septic cream
  • keeping the affected area clean and dry to assist any scabbing that “may” occur
  • avoid direct contact with the sun and keep well-covered
  • avoid prolonged exposure to water
  • avoid skin contact with hard surfaces
  • avoid picking or scratching the area

So, the tattoo has to go!

The result you want is:

  • Remove or lighten your existing tattoo
  • Safely with minimal pain
  • Cost-effectively, – using the most advanced Laser technology
  • To be treated by a Trained, Certified, Accredited and Insured Industry Professional

That’s not dreaming, is it?

Frequently asked questions

Our Q–Plus EVO Laser uses ultra-quick pulses of light energy to target large ink particles trapped in your skin’s dermal layer. The ink absorbs the light energy and shatters into smaller fragments that are then naturally disposed of through your body’s lymphatic system, causing the unwonted tattoo to fade. This process is repeated several times until no ink is left in the skin.

Virtually every tattoo removal will require multiple treatments. When a tattoo is applied, various layers of ink are embedded into the skin. With each treatment, the laser targets the shallowest layer of ink and works its way down. Most clients need 5 to 10 treatments, while faded tattoos may only need 2 to 4 treatments.

During your FREE consultation, our expert laser technician will assess your tattoo and approximate the number of treatments you and your unique tattoo will need based on a variety of factors:

  • Tattoo age
  • Tattoo size
  • Ink colours
  • Tattoo location
  • Ink density
  • Ink depth
  • Pre-existing scarring
  • Patient health

A minimum of 6 – 8 weeks is required between each treatment session.  This waiting period is necessary to give your skin enough time to heal before undergoing another laser session.  During those 6 – 8 weeks your bodies immune system will remove the shattered ink particles from your skin.

At Inya Cosmetic Skin Clinic, we determine the cost of each treatment based on the size of your unwanted tattoo. Our prices are competitive and straightforward and designed to save you money.

Laser tattoo removal is often compared to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. We have invested in the Zimmer Cryo-Cooling Device to help alleviate pain and provide maximum comfort before, during, and after your treatment.

Laser tattoo removal is the safest, most effective method for treating and removing unwanted tattoos. The most common side-effect patients “may” experience are itchiness, redness, swelling, blistering, and scabbing. All of these side effects are temporary and heal over the 6 to 8 week waiting period after a laser session.
